Do away with the fine china
Found this old china cabinet at the auction for super cheap. Painted it and added a few other embellishments. I am so proud of my new bookcase!

Music to my Eyes
My husband's aunt gave us a piano that belonged to his grandmother. It was a little light in color (but definitely not in weight) for our current décor. I applied 3 coats of Minwax Bombay Mahogany Polyshade with a 3" brush and I love the results. :)

Feeling Witchy
Katie was participating in a pumpkin decorating contest last year. She took a fake pumpkin and attached duct tape to the top to form a cauldron shape. She painted the pumpkin/cauldron purple. For the "brew" we had some dry Lima beans that she put inside an empty mustard bottle with green paint and shook until they were all coated in paint. The witch is a plastic medicine cup with straws for legs and painted Barbie shoes. The broom was a barbecue brush that she painted. The flames were made from tissue paper and placed on real sticks. She won second place :)
